I kinda get what ur saying and if i'm hearing you right i totally agree
High consumption of fat or of the combination fat and carbohydrates causes obesity, heart disease and other health problems.. However the different types of fat have very different effects on the health. Here is a survey of the different fat cathegories and their effects:
Mono-unsaturated fat - This type of fat prevents heart disease and circulatory disease in moderate amounts.
Omega-6-poly-unsaturated fat - This fat type prevents heart disease if you do not consume too much of it. However it causes inflammatory reactions. This type of reactions are benign when they are moderate and when they are provoked to fight disease. But a constant high inflammatory response is dangerous, and can cause rheumatism, heart trouble and cancer. A very high consumption of this type of fat is therefore dangerous.
Omega-3-poly-unsaturated fat - This type of fat prevents heart disease and reduces inflammatory reactions in moderate amounts. Therefore it also reduces the risk of cancer, intestinal inflammations and rheumatism.
Omega-9-poly-unsaturated fat - This type of fat also prevents heart disease and reduces inflammatory reactions in moderate amounts. Therefore it reduces the risk of cancer, intestinal inflammations and rheumatism.
Saturated fat - This type of fat is probably not dangerous in small amounts. In higher amounts, saturated fat gives high cholesterole levels, causes clogging of the blood vessels, cause coronary heart disease and increases the risk of infarctation of the heart and other organs.
Cholesterole- . Cholesterole is a fat-like compound found in the food, but also syntisized from saturated fat by the body. High intake of saturated fat or of cholesterole itself, therefore elevates the cholesterole level in the body. Cholesterole is a neccessary compund, but in higher amounts it causes clogging of the blood vessels, causes coronary heart disease and increases the risk of infarctation of the heart and other organs.
Trans-fat - This type of fat is produced by chemical processing to yield specific mechanical properties. Margarine often contains this type of fat. This type of fat is dangerous, and is a probably a causal component for heart disease and cancer. There is however one exception: Some amount of fat containing the trans acid conjugated linoleic acid seem to be benevolent for the skin health and may help reduce weight. Conjugated linoleic acid is found in milk and butter.
Common problems of the averidge diet:
The averidge American and European diet generally contains too much fat and carbohydrates combined. The fat consumed is generally a mixture of trans fat, saturated fat and omega-6-poly-usaturated fat. This fat misconsume causes overweight and is probably a major contributing component for the incidence of heart disease, cancer, intestinal inflammatory diseases, rheumatism and other inflammatory conditions.
Recommanded amount of fat in the diet:
A common advice is to let 25-30 % of the energy needed be covered by fat, and the rest by carbohydrates. However, experts do not agree at his point. Some recommand a low carbohydrate diet with more fat, and others recommand a high carbohydrate diet with a low fat amount.
In either case, the combined intake of fat and carbohydrates should not be much higher than your daily energy consumption if you have a normal or wanted weight. If you want to loose weight, this combined amount must be lower. If you want to gain weight, it should be higher.
The right mixture of fat types:
The right mixture of different fat types is as important as the amount of fat in the diet to keep good health. However, you must not take the percent ratios given here too literally, since there is much unagreement about the exact ratios that should be recommanded. Furthermore, if you have an active lifestyle that demands much energy, this is best achieved by increasing the amount of carbohydrates and mono-unsaturated fat.
Mono-unsaturated fat - Ideally as much as 35% of the fat consumption should be from this type of fat. You can find this fat in olive oil, raps oil and walnut oil.
Omega-6-poly-unsaturated fat - 30 % of the fat consumption should be from this fat type. You find it in soya oil and corn oil.
Omega-3-poly-unsaturated fat and omega-9-poly-usatureted fat - 20 % of the fat consumption should be this type. You find it in fish oil and in fat fish. If you suffer from inflammatory conditions like rheumatism and intestinal inflammation, you will probably benefit from increasing the amount of this fat type, and reduce the amount of other fat types.
Saturated fat - Not more than 15 % of the fat consumption should be saturated fat. Saturated fat is found in fat from mammals, coconut fat and in milk.
Cholesterole - The cholesterole level in the body depends upon the combined amount of consumed cholesterole itself and saturated fat. To keep the cholesterole level right, you should not consume too much saturated fat, and not very much of food containing cholesterole, like eggs and spawn.
Trans-fat - This type of fat should ideally not be a part of the diet at all. Margarine, cookies, snacks and often also bread contain this type of fat. It is therefore important to reduce the consume of margarine, cookies, snacks, and to check the composition of the bread you consume.
Conjugated linoleic acid - This is perhaps the only trans fat acid that is benevolent in some amuont. It is found in natural milk fat, and you can buy dietary supplements of this substance. A small amount of this substance may help keep your skin healthy and may help you to reduce weight.

anybody ever use the Humminbird® RF35 Wireless Wrist Mount Fishfinder or any other fishfinder like it?
what do you think, is it worth it or is it cheap?
thanks, i've never used a ff and if the cheap ones aren't worth it, i'll just keep going on instinct
I've never used them because I have a FF already. they are around $70 to $100 which is less than a normal unit
It all depends on what you want it for. Me I dont need a great bottom picture (like a side scan) because I fish mainly in 1-3 ft of water. I really dont have fish swimming under the boat and dont fish ledges or brushpiles. I mainly use it for Depth and water temp. readings. If you bass fish and need to find structure you will use the sonar, or if you're offshore you need to find ledges and hard bottom a nice one will be needed but its up to u

As you may well be aware, there are many important benefits to consider when using the Global Positioning Satellite System (GPS). It is invaluable when trying to navigate in unfamiliar areas, but some people think it is an invasion of privacy. Security and privacy have been openly debated, and most adults believe that it is more beneficial than detrimental.
GPS tracking devices can provide monitoring data on a vehicle such as total miles driven, speeds that it was driven, traveled routes, as well as its current location. The sophistication and quantity of available monitored data varies depending upon the system and the make and model of the GPS device and vehicle of installation.
This is also widely regarded as an invasion of our personal privacy. To give one example, a standard rental car contract will often stipulate that if you go over 79 miles per hour, you will have to pay extra for the wear and tear that the car suffers. The car rental company can find out if you are going too fast by receiving information from the GPS tracking devices that are attached to the vehicle. Thus, if you go over 79 miles per hour, they will know, and you will be billed.
Frequently, parents believe that GPS security and privacy issues are minimal in comparison with the security of knowing the location of their child. In fact, some parents use GPS devices to monitor their child's location and activities. If their child fails to follow the parents' guidelines, these parents may opt to suspend driving and socialization privileges.
GPS cell phones no longer require people to purchase expensive hardware to track a loved one. Cell phone companies now offer this option. However most cell phones do not offer the user direct access to the GPS data. Accurate location determination requires the assistance of the wireless network, and the GPS data is transmitted only if a 911 emergency call is made.
Cellphones raise lots of privacy issues. Consumers are often not aware that their movements are recorded and tracked. Global Positioning Systems (GPS) reveal a person's location. This type of location data helps police with their investigations, such as tracking down a criminal or even someone who is lost or missing. They can act as a safety device to protecting your family and loved ones. Location technology also helps locate stolen cars. The technology for these tracking devices is constantly improving. However, there is some potential that tracking data can be misused.
As many of you already know, the Global Positioning Satellite System has a number of major benefits. It can be of huge assistance to those navigating in unfamiliar territory. But some people consider it to be an invasion of privacy. GPS security and privacy, has been widely discussed. GPS vehicle tracking devices can provide monitoring data, such as total miles driven, speeds that it was driven, traveled routes, as well as its current location. The benefit of GPS cell phones is that, with this technology there is no need of buying expensive equipment to monitor a loved one.
My grandpa had a crap load of old poles from the early 30s and 40s if not earlier than that and they are taking up my shed room ! lol. But he has regular poles....some that now i guess we would call ugly sticks...but these old Bamboo fly rods Id like to know more about. And willing to get rid of some of them unless I just display them somewhere.Would sure appreciate another Fishing Fan to give me some input. I LOVE to fish and always have. But I dont fly fish.Hey....a bad day of fishin is a good day of drinkin. lol. ANyone know a thing about the old rods ?
For a keen fisherman, travel fishing rods become a fairly essential piece of equipment. They are perfect to carry around for that camping vacation, weekend away on the coast, or impromptu day off.
Good travel rods are compact, yet do not sacrifice quality or functionality. There are many types of rods available designed especially for travelling. Most offer all the same important features as their regular versions. You just need to have a look around, and know what you are looking for! Easy... right? Most of the time, yes!
You are are candidate for a travel rod if:
- You are someone who enjoys fly fishing as a pastime
- You know someone who would appreciate the advantages of having a travel fishing rod
- You are looking to buy someone a great 'fishing gift'.
Bottom line, all travel fishing rods are a tool used to catch fish. In most instances the pieces are collapsible, requiring assembly before use. Among the most commonly used rods are: Trailing; Telescopic; Fiber; Tenkara; Spin and Bait Casting; Spinning; Ultra-light; and Ice, Sea and Surf Rods.
It is important to purchase a fishing rod best suited to the requirements. In general, picking out a good fishing rod will depend on the required resistance to breaking. Plus its overall performance with regards to angling and casting. Of all the things to consider, the most important one is, without a doubt, ensuring the rod you buy is right for the type of fishing to be done.
Travel rods come in various sizes and designs, which is why it is so important to know the type of fishing to be done. A fly fishing travel rod, for example, is not suitable when it comes to handling big fish. For that kind of expedition, a Trolling Rod or Surf Rod are best. This generally is the case when targeting medium to large sized fish.
Travel rods typically come in exploded designs of four to seven pieces. Plus they have also recently benefited from technology. Well, what hasn't these days? One can now get very precise handling specifications.
Another thing you should know is that most quality travel fishing rods also come with a case. That is important because it makes life a whole lot easier when you are out and about. So, don't just grab a few sticks in a bag! Purchase a good quality travel rod and you'll always be prepared to hook up with some hot fishing action.
Hi,
We had a Lowrance X51 depth finder and an old Eagle 7200. We recently replaced the Eagle with a new Lowrance X510c color depth finder so we have one at each end of the boat. The new color screened X510c is apparently on the same frequency as the X51 and neither frequency can be changed. We tried installing the transducer for the X51 on the front of the boat, about 10 feet from the other one. Still messes up the screen on the X510c. Any hints as to what we can do besides get rid of the X51? This writer/fisherwoman wants her depth finder. Thanks. judson
One way to get around it is to use a dual-frequency fishfinder, and keep one set on a frequency different from the other. It sounds like you're at the point where both are fixed-frequency so neither can be changed. The only way around it is to find a transducer that transmits at a different frequency, but will work with one of the fishfinders you have now. I don't know if such a thing is possible, or if it is, whether a new transducer would cost more than a new fishfinder.

The Home Decor cartridge is an example of a shape cartridge that can be used with any of the cutting machines from Cricut. Most of these cartridges have a particular theme so that there would be a lot of options of designs for a desired project. Some cartridges on the other hand have a little bit of everything so they can be used for different occasions. The Home Decor cartridge focuses on the decorative aspect meaning it would be most useful for the final touches of a certain project.
There are 50 main images in this specific cartridge. 40 of them are shapes and the last 10 is a set of words including memories, simplify, hope, miracle, create, love, forever, explore, adore and beautiful. All of the words are written in graceful script accented with swirls. The shapes on the other hand are variations of flora and fauna that would make wonderful embellishments in any project. There are birds and insects like butterflies, dragonflies, bees and ladybugs. There are also symbols that are commonly used such as star, fleur-de-lis, heart, crown and chandelier.
Although most of these shapes are neutral, they can be more specific by use of colors and other trimmings. For instance, if the star symbol is used on red paper and drizzled with glitters, it would pass as a Christmas symbol. Likewise if the heart is cut out in different shapes and different hues of reds, it would be ideal to use for Valentines. It would depend on the artist how they can make use of the shapes from the Home Decor cartridge.
In scrapbooks, these would make ideal borders. If the scrapbook artist thinks that a full border is over the top, they can resort to having a horizontal or a vertical border in one or 2 sides. It is really a matter of taste. A simple swirl or a symbol like fleur-de-lis can also be used at the beginning or at the end of a text. For instance, it is very common to have excerpts from songs or poems in the pages of the scrapbook and with text alone, it may be too monotonous. The details and other labeling styles such as explaining a photo can also make use of these symbols.
Shadow and Blackout creative features can be used in this cartridge. These features make this cartridge more versatile especially that there can be more possibilities when it comes to layering these shapes and symbols.
The author considers herself an expert on scrapbooking and has been doing so for years. Her new found love for the Cricut and it's cartridges, including the Home Decor Cricut cartridge, led her to create a blog on the subject. Stop by for a chance to talk more about your favorite Cricut cartridges.
Share your fishing tips and secrets to make life easier.?
I'm talking about anything related to fishing that makes it easier, like tying a worm to the hook with a string so you won't lose them to bait stealers, or a way to cast so they'll be bird nest proof, or something you bring everytime you go out fishing thats a must have.
The one with the coolest, less obvious tips and secret wins!
Chadd, 2nd part is an excellent idea. A fisherman's journal is a great tool. It can one day be even handed down to your kids!
Two things:
First, be slightly over-prepared in terms of extra tackle and gear. I'm not the guys who needs a footlocker full of lures for a half-day on the lake, but when someone says, "Hey, anyone got one of those Eagle Claw trout rigs?" I love being the guy who says, "Yeah, right here," and they say, "Really!?" There's no rules as to how to be that way -- just gotta fish a lot and know the difference between stuff you'll never use and stuff you usually won't use but might. Always remember that rods break -- always have back-up gear! Never be without extra line, leaders, swivels, etc. (i.e., whatever tackle you use). Always have a mutlti-tool (or actual tools) that enables you to completely disassemble all your reels and anything else you have with you that has moving parts. Always have a bit of "outside-the-box" gear with you, in case your favorite method of fishing is completely unproductive (for example, I keep spin fishing gear in my vehicle when I go fly fishing, and vice-versa). Always be ready for darkness and bad weather.
Second, take notes. Keep track of all your fishing trips, even the short ones. Record the exact location, date, time of day, conditions (weather, water temp., etc.), techniques you use, and your catch (species, length, etc.). Do this even when you get skunked. Over the years this will enable you to look back at what works and doesn't work so you can replicate past successes and avoid past failures. It's also a fun record to have and it will help you remember the great times you had fishing.
Wooly Bugger
For Wooly Bugger Deals Click The Blue Links Below What have you NY fly fishers been using for trout?
I have been having good luck with wooly buggers this week, Caught a 16" rainbow last night with a bead head leech. Please share what you have been having luck with lately I would love to know. Caught a couple small brook this week on floating ants as well.
CORN,CORN,CORN works every time. or u could go a different route and use colored mini marshmallows the work ok but lik i said CORN. use individual Kernels (the soft ones) on a fly rod or load up the hook if u are using a regular rod.
I'll agree that redfish magic are nice, but a simple gulp! shrimp rigged weedless on a jig works well, too. I've seen them caught on spoons, crabs, etc. Best place to learn best lures for your local reds would be at one of your local bait stores, preferrably one with a bunch of pics of reds that customers have caught on the walls.
Saltwater Pike
For Saltwater Pike Deals Click The Blue Links Below Would the SA mastery series wf-9-f steelhead line turnover my pike/saltwater flies ave 2/3 inhes on 1/0 hooks?
would this line work if modified ie cut the front taper back and/ or use polytips?
If your using a wf 9wt line you cant modify it into a a taper, i also don't think there is any need for poly leaders on a 9wt outfit anyway. Scientific anglers steel head line is a good line for good turnovers anyway so all i would advise is a tapered mono filament leader and a good fluorocarbon tippet, if its a floating line there is no need for poly leaders, although they do have an advantage on intermediate and sinking lines. Don't do anything to the line and you will get some good distance casts out of it. If your getting better at casting use a DT line as this will increase your distance.
