In this article I'm going to outline 3 tips to help anyone catch more fish. These tips come from more than 50 years of combined fishing experience and can be employed by any angler. No matter what type of fishing you prefer, these tips will help you enjoy more fishing success. None of us should ever forget what Steven Wright said about fishing, "There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot." I'm not sure any truer words have ever been spoken and with any luck this article will help you avoid that latter part of that quote.
If you want to catch more fish there is nothing that helps like practice. There is simply no substitute for spending time on the water practicing your craft. The next closest thing to practice for becoming a better angler is to study your craft (which is what you're doing by reading this article). The more tips and techniques you can get the better. Some will work for you, some won't, but the point is that educating yourself is never a bad thing.
So, let's get down to business, shall we? Here are the 3 tips that will help you become a better angler, and thus catch more fish.
Pay Attention To Your Hands - Your hands are very important to fishing, or more specifically the scents that are on your hands. Any scents that are on your hands will transfer to whatever bait or lure you're using. If this scent is unnatural to the fish they will tend not to bite. This might not be true for smaller, more inexperienced fish, but for larger experienced fish this rule is most certainly true. We want to make be sure that our hands are free of any unnatural odors. The easiest way to accomplish this is by grabbing a handful of grass of dirt and rubbing it into your hands before handling your bait or lure.
Pay Attention To Mother Nature - Mother Nature has an amazing impact on the feeding behavior of fish. When I use the term 'Mother Nature', I'm referring specifically to the weather and moon. By knowing when the weather and moon, or one of the two is in your favor as an angler is of the utmost importance. If you've ever had one of those epic days fishing where it seemed like you could do no wrong, it was more than likely due to these two forces of Mother Nature, rather than your prowess as an angler. Learn about the weather & moon and the ways they affect fishing, and you'll start catching more fish.
Pay Attention To Your Eyes - Having a quality pair of polarized glasses is a tip that can help any angler catch more fish. In the flowing waters of a river or stream polarized glasses are a must, not only for seeing the fish, but also seeing your line. Any bass fisherman who has fished for spawning bass knows exactly what I'm referring to as well. Pay attention to your eyes by getting yourself a pair of quality polarized sun glasses. With polarized glasses, like most things remember: you get what you pay for.
These three simple tips will help anyone catch more fish, no matter what you fish for. How am I so sure of this? Simply because I've personally been using every one of these tips for a long time and know how effective they are.

Ok I am 5-4 and I am 160 pounds. I am probally one of the strongest person out of people my size. I've been tackling people that are 200 to 269 pounds my entire life So i can wrap up tackles very well. I go outside to practice every single day and I am fully dedicated to D-Line, but if my coach wants me to, I'll play any thing else on defense. My question is what position could i play on the defensive line. My 40 time is 4.8 with normal clothes on
I will be a freshman in high school.
Sound like a good nose tackle prospect to me. You have to grow and work on your techniques on the D line while you practice. Um talk with your track coach about helping out with your speed so you can bulk up and maintain good speed. The nose tackle is a position of strength and good tackling ability so work with your coach and get his suggestions on things you can work on during off season as well. Best of luck to You.
what is a good line, lure, and rod to catch a marlin or sailfish? Are they a rare fish?
I'm a fishing - hobby man. And I will go popping or maybe troling in sea. My target is tuna or marlin. Can you give me technics for fishing a marlin?
Like any fishing, there's a lot to it. You can do a web search for articles, to find out where the fishing is best (there are several varieties of marlin), and the main fishing methods. It's mainly trolling large lures while the crew looks for fish or signs of fish.
If you want to catch one, book a trip to one of the resorts which target them (the best area in the Pacific is probably the tip of Baja California, but there are places all over the world, in tropical areas, where marlin are commonly caught), and charter a boat. The tackle and knowhow are all provided, the crew will do their best to get you a fish (generally in hopes of a good tip at the end of the day).
Marlin vary in size, from the 100-pound class striped marlin to the 1000+ pound blues and blacks, so there's no one best rod and reel setup. But like any serious fishing, make sure you get quality gear. While marlin aren't rare, you might work all day (or longer) to hook a single fish, and you don't want to lose it because of a tackle failure.
Lifting weights is great exercise for almost everyone, whether your goals are losing weight, building muscle, or both. It'll also help you look and feel great. Weight lifting can also help develop aerobic fitness, especially if done as part of circuit training.
One of the great benefits of having muscle, besides looking and feeling good, is that muscle burns calories even when you are not exercising, helping you to maintain your weight. I'd find it much more difficult to maintain a healthy weight without weight training as would many other people.
Unfortunately many people go about weight training wrong. Not only is proper form important to prevent injury just as in running and even walking, but you want to exercise the entire body. There is one guy in my gym with a great physique: low body fat, muscles, six pack abs, etc. - but he has one big problem. He doesn't exercise his legs and has "chicken legs." This isn't because of any injury or disability, he just doesn't like to exercise his legs. He normally wears baggy pants to hide his chicken legs, but if you see him at the beach he looks, well, silly. And my friend Chrony only does bench presses and biceps curls. This is not a balanced program and he doesn't nearly get as much benefit as he should from lifting weights.
You should have trainer set up an initial program for you, which is free or cheap at many gyms when you sign up. You want to exercise all the major muscles and muscle groups such as your back, chest, legs, and shoulders. Smaller muscles, like your calves, biceps, and triceps are not as important because they do get a significant workout as a side benefit of working your larger muscles.
There are health benefits to lifting weights and you'll look and feel better too. Make sure you have a balanced lifting program to get maximum benefits from the minimum time, and so that you don't end up looking like Mister Chicken Legs a few years down the road!

Drift fishing is the name of a popular technique used for catching all types of fish, and catfish are no exception. In fact, as cats mostly live in moderate to high current situations, drift fishing can be a very effective means of catfishing.
Especially, if you are fishing in a long stretch of water, and are unsure of the location of the fish, or in cases of questionably heavy bottom cover, where bottom rigs are continuously fouled and snagged, drift fishing is a top solution to enjoying a peaceful float along the waterway, and covering a lot of ground while fishing, with little chance of snagging, once the correct fishing depth is attained.
Most cats require acclimatization to an "odd" bait, and so, are cautious around many fabricated baits, making drift fishing with these baits sometimes less effective, but big cats will often strike a naturally-occurring bait as a matter of opportunity, as it drifts along past them.
Once they are bigger, Channel Catfish and Blue Catfish, especially, are both almost exclusively fish-eating species, and will seek out a nicely-presented dead fish (four or five inches long, and somewhat stinky) as it is drift-fished past their hideaway, as this is just how their favorite food shows up in nature.... drifting into their space with the current.
Drift fishing for cats, like all catfish pursuit, is best done in late evening and overnight, though it is not impossible to get a bite during the day, if your bait happens to be in the right place, at the right time. You'll need a boat, obviously, and possibly a drift fishing "drag", like a parachute, or a small and very quiet electric trolling motor, to slow your surface drift speed to match the more languid pace down below, where ideally, we want to allow the bait to float and tumble in a deceptively lifelike fashion, to get the most attention from the cats. Drifting too fast, and pulling your bait, becomes more like trolling, and greatly reduces your likelihood of bagging a cat.
Line weighting for drift fishing is a touchier subject, as the size and type of bait you are using, the tendency of your line to float or sink, and your drift speed will all influence the depth at which your bait will "want" to drift at. Bigger baits tend to sink fairly well all by themselves, but smaller or more buoyant baits will need some weighting to get then down where they can be found by the catfish.
Cats, however, are extremely sensitive to the feel of a weight associated with the bait, and will spit the bait out within a couple of seconds, or faster, if they can sense the unusual nature of what they are taking - remember, that cats "see"up close, almost entirely with their sense of touch. For this reason, use as small of a sinker as you can get away with, to weight your line, and ideally, simply increase your bait size, or its buoyancy, to make it dive, rather than using sinkers for drift fishing. It's all about the lifelike presentation of the bait, here.
In Rugby, is your position determined by your size or skill in the game?
i started playing rugby, and im playing winger. i weigh 136 pounds and have a height of 5,7. i am good at rucking and ok at tackles but im still a winger. so is it your skill in rugby or size or both?
I don't think its the size as such, but the power and strength. The bigger you are, the more power you have behind you to make the crunching tackles etc, and if the size is muscle - then you have the strength. Size and skill are often interrelated. If you are big, you are less likely to be fast or have good handling skills - so can't be a back.... If you are small you are more likely to have those skills - so more likely to be a back, and of course you need the strength and power that comes with size to be a forward.

Small car revolution is about to hit the Indian car industry. The new and sparkling age of small cars has fortunately positioned India as a global leader.
Economic growth in the country is also set to usher the sparkling age as most of the Indian car manufacturers are embracing the era with the launch and announcement of small, affordable, fuel-efficient, and low-cost cars. The increasing demand of such cars is attributed to the desire and need of smaller and ultra-cheap cars with respect to the rising inflation, congested city conditions, and high fuel emissions.
Remember the old golden days when Maruti Suzuki 800, the smallest car on Indian roads, was the only car listed under small car. Though the car is still found zipped on roads, it has lost its dominance with the entry of new cars adorned with advanced and innovative technology.
Keeping pace with the advancing technology, car manufacturers later introduced many new small cars in the country. Some of the biggest hit among those are Hyundai Santro Xing, Hyundai i10, Maruti Suzuki Alto, Chevrolet Spark, Chevrolet Aveo, and the electric car Reva Maini. Though these small cars are not as small as the old warehouse, Maruti 800, they have been successful in winning people’s heart with their compact dimension and improved fuel efficiency.
The upcoming car model, Tata Nano, is again a small car that is expected to completely revolutionize the entire car market. It seems to be a live example of India’s potential capabilities to deliver the best design and engineering in accordance to the need of the next generation customers.
With the advent of this new era, most of the global car manufacturers are targeting India for the production of small cars. The shift towards India is attributed to large market for small cars as well as a major hub for design and production. The country has become a center of gravity with more and more car manufacturers are making a bright move towards the Indian platform.
To create a full time service and value chain, Indian car manufacturers are working day and night to have the best in-class infrastructure, technology, designing, engineering, and auto components. The Indian leaders are also expected to be masters in branding, purchasing, and selling. Today, a large domestic market is supporting burgeoning engineering talent pool in the country. This talent pool coupled with a strong supplier base has carved a niche for the global auto industry.
Apart from the proposed Tata Nano, many other car manufacturers like Honda Seil India, Hyundai Motors, General Motors, Nissan Motors, Ford Motors, and Bajaj-Renault also have their small cars in pipeline. All these small cars will soon roll out on Indian roads, zipping them on the congested city roads.
In time, India is likely to lead the small car market and become a hub for small car production. The small-car focus has an incredible potential to reduce country’s trade deficit and promote fuel-efficient cars. The fulfillment of this realization needs a smart move by car manufacturers in collaboration with the government.

I have a bunch of old penn reels that I found in my closet. Most of them have a star-drag that was common with reels of the era, but this particular one, "No. 78", doesn't have drag. Weirdest thing ever. I really love the simplicity of it though. I figure 20 pound test will be all I need and I could use it for fluke.
Is there a trick to using reels like this or something? I've never heard of such a thing...
you either learn to back reel to allow the line out or you get a fairly good sized and tough callas on your thumb from thumbing the spool to slow it down when a big fish starts ripping ,line off it. You didn't ask but you should save it or sell it as a collectible you might get enough to buy a new accurate reel. I have many I used as a kid. they are over fifty years old.
