Heddon Spook Peacock bass adventures
Peacock bass adventures "My guide had just shut down the 40 hp outboard motor and turned on the electric trolling motor to navigate me and my heavy casting tackle within casting distance of a deep jungle shoreline," Bruce Comrie said.
If you are new to the world of bass fishing, this article is for you. In it I will discuss some of the more popular and effective bass fishing lures on the market. If any of them aren't a part of your bass fishing repertoire, they should be added sooner rather than later. These are some of the best bass fishing lures available to bass anglers.
If you were to list the "top ten" bass fishing lures, the lures listed below would most certainly be on that list. Which one is the best of all of these options? It's impossible to say, because at the end of the day the best lure for bass is probably different for every angler.
Try all of these options and find the one that feels and works the best for you. The point is that there is no "magic" formula when it comes to fishing. Spend as much time as you can on the water and before you know it you'll have your own "favorite bass fishing lure".
The Plastic Worm - The plastic worm is certainly one of the best known lures used for bass of all time, and for good reason. There are many ways of fishing a plastic worm from the 'Carolina Rig' to the 'Wacky Rig'. The plastic worm market has been revolutionized by the Berkley Company with there development of Gulp and Alive products. These fishing baits look and perform just like plastic and have been impregnated with fish attracting scents. Many anglers say that these products even out fish live bait.
The Crank Bait - Crank Baits are any bait that is cast out and reeled in and imitates a bait fish. Crank Baits come in every size and color imaginable. They biggest key with crank baits (in my opinion) is that they appear as lifelike as possible. You want your crank bait to look like the forage that the bass normally eat. One of the best bass fishing lures that imitate a bait fish is the Kicktail Minnow. Some others would include the Shad Rap, the Bagley Killer B, and the Bomber Model A.
The Top Water Lure - Top water lures are very effective for bass. They key to using a top water fishing lure is to make sure that they water is completely flat. The more the water that you're fishing is like glass, the better for top water fishing. One of the most popular and effective top water bass lures of all time is the Jitterbug. Some others would include the Heddon Zara Spook and the Rebel Bumble Bug.
The Spinner Bait - Spinner baits are a great fishing lure for these fish. These lures work well for all types of bass. The important thing is to match the size of the spinner bait to the bass that you're fishing for. In other words if you're fishing for smallmouth bass use a smaller spinner bait, largemouth bass use a larger spinner bait. The point of the matter is that spinner baits are one of the best bass fishing lures available.
As I said earlier, the lures above are some of the best fishing lures that can be used for bass. If any of them aren't in your tackle box you probably want to add them. All of these lures will help you catch more bass on your next fishing trip.

COUPLES RETREAT (2009, Universal, PG-13, $30) — An exotic locale and a well-crafted zinger or two can't disguise the fact that the latest collaboration between "Swingers" scripters Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau is overlong, obnoxious and unfunny.
If you believe this is going to happen at this time of year I suggest that you just stay home where it's nice and warm, relax, and think about the coming months when the Steelhead fishing here in Idaho really picks up.
However if you want to try your luck out on the river you can still catch some nice Steelhead from the end of December through the middle of February, you just need to remember to be persistent. The Steelhead this time of year have moved into the deeper hold pools waiting for the water temperature and condition to change signaling its time to continue their trip to the spawning beds.
This time of year requires patience, persistence and a good amount of luck, some fisherman call the latter skill, however most Steelhead fishermen know that when fishing in these tough winter conditions we will take luck over skill every time. You need to change your fishing style this time of year to be successful and here are a few tips to help you out some.
• Don't concentrate on the tail end of the hole like you would when fishing in the early fall move up stream and fish the deeper slower moving section of the hole.
• Dress warm as this time of year is brutal if you're not prepared, and you won't put in the time needed if you're not able to at least tolerate the weather conditions.
• Drift through the same spot numerous times as the Steelhead have become somewhat lethargic do to the cold water temperatures and they really don't want to have to chase anything.
• Switch up your lure colors and don't be afraid to try something different Steelhead become very persnickety so give them something different.
• Keep your bait and lures small this is one of the most common mistakes Steelhead fisherman make during this time of year.
• Slow your presentation down as much as you can remember that the Steelhead have slowed down also.
• Try new or different spots concentrating on deep slow moving holes.
• Should you be fortunate enough to hook a Steelhead remember the spot where you hooked into him and keep on working that spot as Steelhead like to pool up together.
I have been Chasing Steelhead for over 35 years here in Idaho and yes you can catch some nice Steelhead when most Fishermen have put their rods up waiting for warmer weather and more active fish. Just follow the simple steps above and you to can enjoy one of the most peaceful times on the river and even hook into quite a few steelhead.
do the storm wildeye soft shad lures work good for big bass???
Yes they do.They are so good in fact that I use them to even catch snook and Tarpon in saltwater. Storm wild eyes are very realistic in appearance so you will need to "match the hatch" when fishing it. I speak alot of Flourocarbon leaders and line because this only enhances the lure. They take some getting used to at first but when you do "get a feel for them "you will be catching those bass easily. I have to admit, using the storms isn't my preffered choice when fishing cover ( lilly pads and what not) but they do make great baits for schooling bass, fishing over deep grass beds, rock piles, and spawning beds. I'm sure others here have better uses for them over certain situations but that all has to with being confident in your lure. Go out there and give it a try, if you don't succeed, don't toss the lure, examine the day, what you did and so on to figure out how to best use the lure. Storms are great lures, it just takes some getting used to.
Bass fisherman are always striving to improve their game. While bass angling can seem at first like a simple task, for those who want to make catching bass more than just an act of serendipity, it is important to study the fish itself, and modify technique as well as choose the correct bait to lure the bass to your hook. In this article, we will discuss the unique challenges of the bass fishing, and offer three bait options which you can start using immediately to help you increase your bass haul. When you are finished reading, you will have all the information you need to consistently draw bass to your hook.
If you want to catch bass like a pro, you need to understand the fish. Bass live for the hunt, and they like to lay in wait for their prey and ambush. As a result they will seek cover in order to execute the most effective ambush. For anglers, that makes it essential to fish near cover that bass like, in order to put your line where the bass is most likely to be. In this way, you will put yourself in a high target environment, and increase your likelihood of catching more bass.
In addition to fishing in the appropriate location, it is important to use the right bait. However, before you bait your hook, you want to make sure not to wash your hands in pungent soaps. Any unnatural order will transfer from your fingers to the bait, and bass have very good noses. If your bait smells weird, the bass won't bite. It may not be a bad idea to rinse your hands in the water outside of the boat in order to make your hands smell exactly like the bass's natural environment.
Once you are certain that you are not transferring unnatural smells to your bait, the next step is to choose a bait that will tempt the bass. There are three types of bait that bass like: live bait, realistic lures, and plastic worms.
Whatever kind of bass you are fishing for -- whether it is smallmouth or large mouth lake bass -- live bait is probably your best bet to catch huge quantities of large bass. You can also try live crayfish, but these are harder to find than the more common shad or shiners. It is also important, especially when using shiners or shad, to handle them in the correct way. Live bait needs a plentiful amount of oxygen and minimal temperature change in the water. You want your bait to be as energetic as possible so that it tempts the bass.
For those who prefer not to use live bait, there are realistic fishing lures. If you choose this kind of lure you want to make sure to get the most realistic version possible. For example, an excellent bass lure is the KickTail Minnow. Its resemblance to a live shad is uncanny. Other good realistic lures include the Storm "Wildeye" swim bait and the Rapela.
Probably the most common type of bait for catching bass is the plastic worm. It is important to become a student of the techniques of using the plastic worm if you intend to be an excellent bass fisher. For ease, consider the Texas rig. You may also want to try the swimming rig, which is effective near weed beds and boat docks. As a rule, you don't want to neglect plastic worms as they can be quite effective in catching bass.
Ultimately, when it comes to know how to catch bass like a pro, the key is practice. Keep your line in the water as much as possible. Bass fishing is an art, and like any art it requires many hours honing ones skills. So go fishing.

Can you get laser hair removal, without effecting a tattoo? After being asked this question numerous times by friends, and family I sought to search out the answer. I asked a few laser hair technicians, and tattoo artist alike but none seemed to have the answer. If you are a technician, or tattoo artist I would suggest educating yourself on the effects of laser hair removal.
After rigorous research, I have found many cases of people who have had laser hair removal preformed. Most cases were caused by a slip up of the technicians preforming the laser hair removal "slipping", or being careless. The results were often the same, a puss-filled blister covering the area that had been crossed by the laser. In some cases, infection was almost immediate , and had to be treated in the emergency room?
They have reported, that after the painful blister had healed, the tattoo was either considerably faded or disfigured. There are many problems that can arise from this, infection being the main concern. It can also cause significant scarring.
So, my only suggestion would to seek laser hair removal prior to getting your tattoos. If you do, indeed end up with scarring from your treatment you will need to check with your artist. Most artists will not tattoo over fresh scars, and depending on your own body's healing it may take years for the scar to flatten enough before it is able to accept pigment.
If you are still considering getting laser hair removal around your tattoo, protecting yourself with knowledge is the key. Read the fine print in any contract you are requested to sign, if it includes anything to the nature of "not responsible for damaged tattoos" I would then search for another company. If laser hair removal goes wrong, it can not only damage your tattoo but cost you time, and possible thousands of dollars to repair.
Though, there is one option that you do have. Though it can be expensive, and tedious Electrolysis is the only proven hair removal method that will not have an adverse effect on your tattoo.

Whats the difference b/w the saltwater and the freshwater spinning reels for fishing?
Nowadays, it's the size and line capacity (and the size of the drag washers). But back when I was a kid, a buddy of mine showed up to fish off the pier with a freshwater reel, while I had my Penn spinning reel of the same size. I used my reel for years -- his was good for that one trip -- it rusted!
But nowadays, I think all reasonable reels are corrosion-resistant enough to use in the salt.
If there were a thousand seaguls in an airplane while its flying, each weighing two pounds a piece, but they ?
If there were a thousand seaguls in an airplane while its flying, each weighing two pounds a piece, but they were all flying in the airplane, would the airplane weigh 2000 pounds more?
Ok, so if the seagulls dont add to the weight of the plane... then would they all fly and hit the wall in the back?
Very simple, the air inside the airplane and everything inside that airplane will count as the weight the airplane has to carry, makes no difference whether they are flying or not. Remember inside the plane all the actions and forces are relative to the plane and have to balance out.
Anyone else happy that Chris Simms got a contract extension?
Thank God.
He's my hero. After what he did for his team, I was worried the Bucs were just going to hang him out to dry.
Im happy for him, he's the son of my favorite player ever, Phil Simms, but honestly, i don't see why the hell the Buccs want him back. Chris Has done Nothing with that team, he is a very inconsistant QB.. im glad he got a new contract, but honestly, i dont understand what the buccs are thinking.
There are many options available in today's market. You should choose accordingly to your dog's size, eating and drinking habits, your personal style and taste, and of course safety issues.
Plastic Dog bowls
Plastic bowls might be inexpensive, but some dogs become allergic to plastic and develop skin irritations, and or lose the pigmentation of their noses.
Plastic being porous can trap dirt, odors and germs, which even your dishwasher will not be able to eliminate.
Plastic can also leach plasticizers (most commonly phthalates) and colorants, into your dog's food, which are very harmful to its health.
Plastic bowls being lightweight will tip and spill over easily and can be chewed on by aggressive or too playful dogs.
Ceramic Dog Bowls
Ceramic dog bowls can be a good choice if chosen wisely.
They are usually heavy enough to be spill-proof, but some decorative glazes can contain lead and other toxics (mainly found in foreign products). So it is important to make sure that the bowls were intended for food usage and have a lead-free glaze finish.
Check the bowls regularly for cracks (especially fine ones which can be difficult to detect), chips and scratches, as they encourage the growth of bacteria. If such a bowl breaks replace it, and do not attempt to super glue it! It is not save for you dog!
Stainless Steel Dog Bowls
They are the most healthy choice for your dog. Stainless steel has been the material of choice for food processing, dairy and brewery industries. It is durable, sanitary, rust-free, and non-leaching. Such bowls will last a lifetime.
For Older Dogs Or Taller Dogs
Getting an elevated dog feeder for a taller or older dog (or both) is a good idea since it will help them to eat and drink more comfortably from a dog feeder which is at a more natural body level. Some are outfitted with a single bowl or double bowls to accommodate your space or your dog's drinking and eating habits.
If bending causes you discomfort, you won't need to bend down as much to pick up or put down heavy, full dog dishes: the stainless steel bowls are light enough to remove for easy cleaning and filling.
Keep Your Dog Bowls Or Feeders Clean
Whichever kind of dog bowls you choose, always keep them clean. Hand-wash them in warm, soapy water (and rinse them well), or put them in the dishwasher regularly. If you have an elevated feeder, wipe its top often to keep it dry and clean.

Norway-based Esca Global announces the worldwide launch of its revolutionary new product platform, Esca Technology. Esca Technology convincingly mimics natural lure lights in the sea to attract fish and trigger their hunting and biting instincts, and thus tips the odds in the angler’s favour. Tests have shown an increased catch from 50 % to 700 %.
A revolutionary new product
Esca Global AS is the only company in the world to offer attractors that imitate the lure lights used in nature by marine life. Esca Technology is the ultimate fish attractor. This revolutionary new product is destined to become an essential addition to even the best-stocked tackle box. ESCA technology is integrated into small units that can be used as add-ons to any lures, on their own, or in combination with Esca accessories to maximize your fishing experience. Esca technology was also picked as one of Angling International’s pick of the best lures of 2009 to guarantee sales in your store.
On contact with salt water, the Esca units mimic the light wavelengths, intensity and frequencies of different types of fish and plankton. Esca’s blue light wave, for example, is identical to the light wave emitted by krill – the main food source for almost all fish species. Not only does the Esca technology include light waves that act as attractors, but the technology also creates an electrical field around the products thereby triggering hunting and biting instincts. All living organisms including fish are surrounded by an electrical field. When the fish sense the field around Esca products, they bite – and bite harder.its own electricity and uses no batteries. It activates on contact with salt water, deactivates when out of water, and works for more than 100 hours of active fishing. The units weigh 7 grams and are comprised of high quality technological components that are gold-coated and contain no lead and are therefore environmental friendly. The products are extremely robust and reliable and can withstand pressures at depths of up to 500 meters. Various light colors
Esca technology generates
Esca and bait is a winning combination
When fishing with bait alone, fish that are down-current may smell the bait while the fish that are up-current are not alerted. Imagine what happens when Esca and bait are combined. The upstream fish will now also be attracted by the light and the bait, while all fish, whether drawn in by the light or the bait, will have their biting instincts stimulated by the electromagnetic fields around Esca. Suddenly, fishing occurs in 360 degrees rather than only downstream. In darker environments where visibility can pose a challenge, a synergetic effect is achieved when combining Esca and nearly all types of fishing lures or tackle. In addition to acting as an attractor and bite stimulator, Esca improves visibility of the lure and tackle – thereby improving the fisherman’s odds.
