When it comes to fishing rods, what the heck does it all mean? There are all kinds of things written on the fishing rod itself, and all of them have a different "feel". I'm going to attempt to clear up some of the confusion for you, although at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. I've seen a lot of anglers that have one fishing rod that they use for all of their fishing. This is a mistake and a sure fire sign that said angler doesn't catch many fish. I'm not suggesting that you should have a locker full of 50 different rods, but you should have two or three available for different situations.
Fishing rods come is the basic actions listed below. This information is printed (in very small lettering) on the rod itself, directly above the handle, along with suggestions as to lure and line sizes. My suggestion is that you have at least three rods to choose from for ant given fishing situation.
Ultra light Action - these rods are used for fishing very small lures. Ultra light rods are perfect for small stream and river fishing, such as when you're wading. The heavier the current, the longer rod you will want. Ultra light rods are a great choice for trout and pan fish.
Light Action - Light action rods are used for the same situations as ultra light action rods. If you're just starting out, start with a light action rod and work your way to ultra light. Again, these rods are perfect for trout and pan fish fishing.
Medium Action - Medium action rods are right in the middle of the scale (imagine that). Medium action rods are to be used when wading larger rivers for larger fish. I personally use medium action rods for my walleye and smallmouth bass fishing in Canada. Medium action is also a good size for trolling smaller lures.
Medium Heavy Action - This size rod is great for trolling most lures. Medium heavy rods are also great for most salmon and steelhead fishing. As the name suggests, these rods are to be used in situations where you're after bigger fish (10 to 20 pounds as a general example), although it's also a favorite size for large mouth bass anglers.
Heavy Action - Obviously, these are your big boys. Largemouth bass fishermen will use rods this size to fish heavy cover and the like. Also, when you're fishing for big pike and muskie, heavy action rods are a must. These rods are used for really big fish (over 20 pounds as a general example). This action rod is also used for heavy trolling, such as that done with downriggers.
After this brief overview, you should have a better understanding of what the different actions of fishing rods mean to you as an angler. As mentioned earlier, you will probably want at least three different fishing rods for different fishing situations. That way you can pick and choose as the situation changes. As an example, I use my four foot ultra light rod for most of my small river and stream fishing, but in the springtime, when the water is really high, I switch to my five foot six inch ultra light rod. The longer rod makes it easier to feel bites in heavy current.

Lot Vintage Vintage voltage: When AC/DC rocked Albury
THERE was a time when some of the greatest Australian bands of the era would regularly visit Albury.
You may be one of those people who have collected cookbooks over the years that ended up, used or unused, gathering dust on bookshelves or in boxes piled up in the attic, garage or basement. Old, rare, classic, vintage, antique and collectible cookbooks can be a hidden source of instant cash. You can easily learn how to sell these old cookbooks.
And many people underestimate the value that these old, collectible cookbooks have, for example Betty Crocker Cookbooks and Better Homes & Gardens Cookbooks, and have never even thought about selling them. There are many other old, valuable cookbooks of course. But for the purpose of this article we'll start with these two well known cookbook publishers' cookbooks. They'll be easier to research.
Do you have any old Better Homes and Gardens Cook Books? How about Betty Crocker Cook Books from the 1950s, 1960s, or popular editions from 1959, 1961 or older? Pie or plaid covers? Betty Crocker New Picture Cookbook or Betty Crocker Boys and Girls Cook Books or any others?
Maybe you do have some of these cookbooks now. Maybe you have some at mom's or grandma's house or even better at great-grandma's house. Perhaps you've seen them at garage sales. A lot of old cookbooks can be valuable -- worth a lot of money. Even those of lesser value may sell for ten times the original price.
Whether you have cook books with binders, hardcovers, plaid covers, or pie covers, you need to do a little research. You'll need to know the title, year of publication, edition (usually printed inside the book in front) and condition, before you can come up with the TRUE value.
You can start by gathering as much of these facts as possible. If any of your old books have been signed by the author or in some cases the illustrator, that'll bring up the price significantly. Then, first of all, go to Google and type in the exact title - for example, 'Betty Crocker Cookbook' and the year published, and see what comes up. Then try using the same phrase with cook book as two words. If you have a plaid or pie cover or other distinct cover, then try again adding 'plaid cover' or 'pie cover'. Do it again and type in the edition if known. You may find some others for sale or that have already sold. Then try again with your variations and add the words - excellent condition, fine condition or good condition.
Next go to eBay and go to the search feature and then 'completed listings'. Search by the category 'cookbooks' and the title of your cookbook and look for similar titles and editions. Only look at those that have sold, to get a feel for the price range. In terms of pricing, ignore the cookbooks that are still for sale. Many factors go into why they didn't sell. Finding sold copies in these cookbook listings will give you a general idea of the range they've sold in. The binding, year and condition are just some of the variable factors. You can do the same with your Better Homes & Gardens Cookbooks. Then try some of the other old, rare, vintage or antique cookbooks that you've collected.
The deciding factor for price in every case will be the condition of the cookbook. Condition is everything. Handle your cookbooks carefully. Collectors and buyers expect cookbooks to have an occasional spot on them. If they're fragile, handle them with white cotton gloves. Never put them in airtight bags or containers, because the moisture content in the pages will cause them to mildew. You can bag them but leave them open. In any case protect them.
So you need to decide on the condition of your cookbooks, find the price range of cookbooks that have sold on completed listings and then decide how to price your book. Be very wary of putting any old, rare, vintage or antique cookbooks on eBay for 99 cents or without a reserve price. You don't want someone walking off with your precious book for just pennies. The sold cookbooks on eBay completed listings have a distinct advantage. You know what people are actually paying for cookbooks and current price ranges.
As for books that list the value of cookbooks, I have them all. But I find them worthless because the values do not reflect what people actually pay for cookbooks or the current prices, whether it is Betty Crocker Cookbooks, Better Home & Gardens Cookbooks or any others. And the cookbook value books go rapidly out of date as time passes since publication.
Besides eBay there are a lot of other ways to sell your cookbooks on the Internet or outside of the Internet. There is too much to go into in this short article. There are many other trade secrets. One easy way -- there is a free cookbook listing service online, for old, rare, vintage or antique cookbooks where you can list your cookbooks for sale, yes free of charge. Collectors and buyers come to the site. You can continue to sell them using other methods and not wait for a buyer to make contact from the site. You can always have your listing removed from the site if it sells or you sell it another way.
You can buy and sell old cookbooks easily once you become familiar with one cookbook and you'll probably be able to find more of them at garage sales. With this basic knowledge of how to sell cookbooks, you've just become a mini-expert on selling cookbooks. So go to your cookbook shelves now and see what you already have and start from there. Once you're an expert on Betty Crocker Cookbooks and Better Homes and Gardens Cookbooks you can start researching other old, rare, classic, vintage, antique and collectible cookbooks.

Ray Guard Reef Boots? I've seen them at Academy and Bass Pro Shops for $119.?
The shoe by itself is about $43 and the "shin guards" are about $29. The only diference I noticed is that for $119, the two don't come separately. Has anybody tried both ways and seen a diference? Also, do I buy in a size that I will or will not need socks? I've used chest waders with socks, but I think water IS going to be inside the reef boots. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
i have not had the occasion to have to wear ray guards but I would recommend that you wear socks just to help in protecting your Achilles tendon.
Safety has always been a major concern when it comes to industries such as construction. Safety gears like working boots are very essential to always remain safe from unexpected circumstances in the workplace and other hazardous substances. It should be a responsibility of workers to wear these boots when they are on the field especially in dangerous proximities.
Safety work boots such as Chippewa boots provide protection for worker's feet like protective clothing protects their body. There is safety footwear that is designed to have resistant mid-soles to protect worker's feet through preventing the penetration of sharp objects and even contain some acid resistant soles. Work boots are also useful in guarding workers from electrical shocks and hazards. So whether you are working on a construction firm or a steel manufacturing plant, it is necessary to own a good pair of reliable working boots.
There is a wide variety of working boots that are particularly suited for various conditions and every work industry. If you have no time to go shopping there are even an array of working boots you can choose from online. You do not need to travel from one store to another if you already have found a particular design and style that you like. Although this is an easier task, it is still advised that you have an initial fit first to ensure that you will be buying a pair of working boots that is appropriate for your shoe size.
Characteristics of working boots are varied depending on the brand it represents. Some people may need extra protection from heat or cold. On the other hand there are also some who need to be protected from water, mud or other sharp objects. Typically, work boots are knee-high and can be made from different types of materials. These include leather and plastic which provides strength and durability to the boots. This type of boots is most of the time laceups and shod with hobnails and heel and toe plates.
A particular industry has certain features required for their working boots and these features may vary depending on the work area. Some of these include fire-resistance, mechanical boots, soft-toed, insulation, 8 inch laces and many more. The simple water-proof work boots are made in different length of uppers and in some cases thigh boots called waders by anglers end at waist level of the wearer. These are only a few characteristics of working boots that are available in the market.
There are many shoe companies such as manufacturers of Chippewa boots that have introduced their own technology in producing work boots which is greatly beneficial for consumers. Workers can choose any of these work boots which they feel are more comfortable when worn. Prices may range depending on the function or features you are looking for. For instance, there are steel-toed boots made with cushioned lining and is water resistant.
It is important that you purchase work boots that are a match for the function that you need it. In this fashion, you will not regret your final purchase and you will appreciate having invested your money on good quality boots.

Cell phones have been steadily growing in popularity in todayÂ’s market. Owning one is no longer a luxury but rather a necessity. Cell phones are used for business and pleasure. They are invaluable to have when traveling or in need of directions. Parents like their children to have them for various reasons including safety. They also allow parents to keep "tap" on their kids throughout the day.
TodayÂ’s cell phones also act as digital cameras, mp3 players, and can be used for Internet browsing. Other phones include a miniature palm. All accessories required for these phones can be found at the dealer or direct manufacturer outlets.
Cell phones might be easy to use but might prove to be dangerous if not properly taken care of. Batteries play a major role in assuring that the phone works. All cell phones come equipped with a battery by the company who makes them. Although batteries manufactured by a particular company can fit into other models by the same company, interchanging might not be possible. Rather, it might prove dangerous if the fit is not perfect.
Using a genuine battery is imperative. They have in-built detectors connected to the circuit to detect the level of charging until the correct maximum level is reached. Overcharging is a rare event, as the phone will alert the user that the phone is fully charged. Overcharging might result in overheating, resulting in leakage or overflow that can be very dangerous.
Counterfeit batteries, though readily available at all electronic outlets tend to overcharge, overheat leak inside the phone causing internal damage. Phones have been known to blow up because of this. Most counterfeit cell phone batteries do not have the built in safety detector and are not able to detect when a battery overcharges.
Using a cell phone is convenient and fun. However, proper usage is a must as is true with most electronic goods. A well-maintained phone can be used for a long time without cause for trouble.
Cell Phone Batteries provides detailed information about cell phone batteries, best cell phone batteries, cell phone battery chargers, cell phone battery life and more. Cell Phone Batteries is the sister site of Coil Binders.
