I go on an annual trip to northern Manitoba pike fishing in early August. We usually catch several pike between 40 to 46 inches and they are feeding actively. My friend works at a tackle shop and suggested a double cowgirl musky lure. I paid my 26 bucks (by far the most I've ever spent on a lure) and got an absolute beast of a black and chartruse lure in the mail. I have a curado 200 dpv reel with a 5.01 retreive on a Med Heavy St. Croix 7 ft rod rated for lures up to 3 oz. I am going to use 50# power pro. Is my tackle up to casting and retrieving the 3oz beast with double #10 colorado blades? I know it's supposed to be great for musky but is it overkill using this thing for big pike? It makes a #5 mepps look like a gnat and takes up half my box.
I think this could be a good choice and as a musky fisherman I understand why you would want to upsize your lures. I dont think its overkill at all and if I were in your situation I would start throwing bigger baits in every category (and not just inline spinners.) My friends and I often catch big pike while fishing musky so dont worry that you are off-base with your tactics. Try to upsize your spinnerbaits, crankbaits and topwaters too. In addition to throwing bigger hardware you may want to fish a little deeper too. Try focusing on structure like rocky dropoffs or weedbeds that are adjacent to deeper water or the main lake basin. Good luck.

I've often been asked how to I catch a brook trout. And I usually answer with a line and hook. Now most of them know that I'm just kidding around with them, but if you think about it, that is the basis of catching any fish. Now the big question is what kind of line and what's on the hook. Also in what water to put the line and hook.
As far as line goes I prefer to use 4lb. monofilament. That is of course, when I am spinning or bait fishing. For fly fishing I prefer lighter weight of fly line coupled with a light smaller fly rod, and a reel to match the rod. When running monofilament line I prefer to use an ultralight rod and reel.
For hooks I prefer to use the smaller variety most times. Spinners and spoons I will use in the #0 to #1 size for most of my fishing. But obviously if you're going for bigger Brook trout like record size, much bigger lures will be needed. Considering the average Brookie in most streams will be between six and 8 inches with the odd one finding the 12 to 14 inch mark, the smaller spinners and spoons will be fine.
I do however tend to use larger bait hooks when I'm fishing for Speckles. The reason for this is that the trout have less tendency to swallow the bait completely. But if they swallowed the bait down there gullet it's almost impossible to release them without seriously hurting them. So the larger bait hooks prevent the brookies from swallowing the bait completely.
Brook trout can be found in clear cool streams. Also in bigger rivers and lakes that have the right temperature. For the Brook trout to survive they need temperatures of 60°F and below. So if you can find these conditions you may find some Brook trout. Now do not overlook smaller streams, some only a couple feet wide, because you never know if the temperature is right and there's lots of cover, there very well could be some nice trout for you to catch.

Tin Sign Nigeria : Super Eagles Players' Attitude And Mundial 2010
Lagos — There is no doubt that the attitude of the Super Eagles players to call for national duty has been one of the major draw back in the expected graphic progression of the nation's soccer after the 1994 sterling performance of the Eagles at both the Nations and World Cup .After that period, there has been a steady decline in both input of the players and the result they had got.
It's said that a house with a candle lighting on its window is a sign of welcome for Mary and Joseph.
The candle is supposed to be lit by the youngest child and the flame put out by a girl called Mary. Is this why the name Mary was so popular in the old days? It was also a sign that Priests were welcome to have mass in that house as masses were forbidden during Penal Times.
Traditionally, a candle was only lit in one window, but nowadays at Christmas, most houses have electric candles in all windows.
Festive decorations
Holly grows wild in Ireland, so it a very common decoration in Irish house over Christmas.
A berry filled holly wreath on the front door is a very popular decoration and is a tradition passed down through the years when long ago poor people would use it to decorate their homes.
The nativity crib, tinsel, baubles, bows and lights both inside and outside are also used to decorate homes.
Decorating the Christmas tree
This was a Pagan custom, which represented the various lunar objects important to them like the sun, moon and stars. The tradition of giving gifts also came from the Pagan era and is a huge part of Christmas today.
Christmas trees are decorated with tinsel and twinkling fairy lights, and while some people put an angel on top of the tree, others prefer a star.
Nowadays in Ireland, Christmas trees and decorations go up as early as the first week of December. In Ireland, it is thought to be bad luck to take Christmas decorations down before the 6th January.
Whitewashing the outhouses
The custom of white washing (painting) outhouses still goes on in some rural places in Ireland. This goes back to a time before Christianity when the entire farm inside and out, was scrubbed and polished in respect of the coming of baby Jesus.
Santa Claus
Late on Christmas Eve, after everybody has gone to sleep, Santa visits the children of Ireland. While they are tucked up in bed, he leaves gifts under Christmas trees and fills Christmas stockings. In return, Santa gets a carrot for Rudolph, a mince pie and a bottle of Guinness!
Christmas Food
Christmas cooking starts in the months before Christmas! Traditional Christmas fruit cakes, porter cakes and plum puddings are made, wrapped and stored. They are opened every now and again and some brandy or whiskey is poured on them to keep them moist.
The traditional Christmas dinner in Ireland consists of ham, stuffed turkey or roast goose, potatoes, vegetables and cranberry sauce. The usual appetizer is salmon or prawn cocktail while the desert is mainly plum pudding with brandy sauce or fresh cream, followed by Christmas cake or mince pies.
(Traditionally the pubs or shops don't open at all on Christmas day. However, nowadays you will find the odd petrol station and shop open but they are few and far between).
Hunting the Wren (The Wran)
The Wren Boy Procession is another Christmas tradition in Ireland. It was at one time commonplace in towns all over Ireland, but nowadays you are most likely to see it in the south of Ireland, and Dingle in Co. Kerry is one town where this tradition is very much alive. It happens each year on the 26th of December (St. Stephen's Day), when The Wren Boys march through the streets of the town dressed in straw, to the beat of drums and tin whistles. It is said that this tradition reigns from Pagan times, when the little wren was considered the 'King of all Birds'. Originally the wren was hunted and killed and then paraded through the town on top of a pole, instead nowadays, the Wren Boys use this opportunity to collect money for charity.
And finally, don't be shocked if you see people swimming in the icy cold water on Christmas Day - this has become an annual event at many locations all over the country, and it's all in the name of charity.

Hi, i have just bought an X-Zoga Braid Fishing Line for my Spinning Reel. It is 15lbs, thickness is 0.18mm. Can it withstand a 12kg fish without breaking ?
Sure it can. But it all depends on your ability to fight and land a fish.
I've caught many steelhead in the 20lb. range using 4lb mono leader and 6lb braided mainline. I also regularly catch 60lb chinook with 17lb hybrid leader.

Minnow Lure

i want to know what van the rapala minnow in the fo7 size catch? it's seven centimeters i think it may be to big for crappie and white bass here is a link http/www.rapalaworld.com/lure.php?s=aWQ9MjUmc2l2dT1zcGVjcyZ0eXBlPTEmcD0xJmg9MzFoNUNDdWM%3D
its 2 and 3/4 inches it may be a bit big for smaller sized fish but the larger crappie and white bass can definitely get a hold of it. I have better luck with rooster tails I mainly use the white for crappie and white bass. They cost less than half of what the Raps cost too. You might want to use a ball bearing swivel to keep your line from twisting up while using them.

What's the term for making a joke/reference to something you said beforehand?
For example: That football player is great. He's gonna have to "tackle" a lot of interviews after that last game.
Or: They really believed that guy caught a great white shark? Guess those people bought that story hook, line, and sinker!
Often it's pretty cheesy like this.
Help!
No, there's a definite word for it, I think I saw it on Family Guy or something. Anyway, it's the usage of a pun, kind of, but it's something else!
It is called a "call back."
The “call back” in a comedy monologue refers to a repeat joke about an earlier item, usually appearing a few jokes after the original and referencing that original. The call back usually gets a big laugh. The audience fondly recalls the original joke as well as enjoying the new joke. Adding call backs to your comedy monologue can help you to increase the laughs you receive during your performance.

For every patriotic American national the Bald Eagle symbolizes independence and fierce pride and you may be interested to read up these very interesting facts put together to salute this great bird. You may also wish to know how to start a collection of the Bald Eagle to bring warmth and good cheer to your home. Whatever the reason stay with me to find out more on the Bald Eagle and what it symbolizes.
The American Bald Eagle was unofficially recognized as America's National bird at the time when the great seal of the United States of America was adopted on June 20, 1782. Benjamin Franklin fiercely contested this adoption and preferred instead the Turkey! However despite the battle that raged the Bald Eagle became the country's official National bird in 1789 when George Washington became the First President of the nation.
Bald Eagles are indigent to areas from Alaska to the Mexico's northern border and along the Pacific to Atlantic coast. It is considered to be a true Native American bird as it is the only species of Eagle found exclusively on the North American continent. The Bald Eagle is large and powerful bird and the male species ranges in weight from 7 - 10 pounds with wingspans of 6 feet plus, while the female species weighs up to 14 pounds with wingspans ranging up to 8 feet.
You can find the Bald Eagle on the backs of gold coins, silver dollars, half dollars and quarters. The Bald Eagle represents freedom to the American people and the majesty of the bird comes across clearly as it swoops down from its lofty dwelling place or as it soars up into the great blue yonder. Maude M. Grant put it beautifully when she wrote, and I quote, "Thus the Eagle, full of boundless spirit of freedom, living above the valleys, strong and powerful in his might has become the national emblem of a country that offers freedom in word and thought and an opportunity for a full and free expansion into the boundless space of the future." This is something every American should be able to read and be justifiably proud of.
